Your Only Move Is HUSTLE

I was writing a lengthy comment detailing my thoughts so I'll instead open it as a discussion thread. Take some of what I say with a grain of salt because I am not super experienced, but I want to talk about my experience playing the game.

Honestly? He feels underpowered. It could be that he has a high skill floor, but it feels like his nanomachines dissipate too easily to effectively use them. He struggles to hit opponents, and I chalk that up to two reasons: Limited mobility and slow, close range attacks. He has only a few options for getting in range and many of those can be interrupted by even an average speed midrange attack, such as KICK USER. I can do KICK USER out of neutral and he has no response other than to avoid the attack or block. I think he might be missing effective options out of neutral. Most of his basic attacks are very close range, and very slow relative to how small their hitboxes are, at least judging y the little text in the in-game UI.

His best option is to build up nanomachines to be able to tank those interrupting attacks. The only problem is building up enough nanomachines to use his purple attacks or even just tank blows is very time consuming and requires either jingo boosting every other move or spamming green moves. And then once you build up nanomachines, they dissipate almost entirely within one or two hits or purple moves.

His one saving grace is his extremely high damage output, and Boundary Creep. If he can maintain a combo, he does a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of damage. Boundary creep is powerful due to its hitstun, but every single tick of damage is parryable so it can be defended against if the enemy isn't already in hitstun before it hits. High damage makes him scary, but that requires him to *actually hit you*

I struggled to win as him against my friend, and in public lobbies I played Robot against him twice today and beat him by a large margin both times. He only managed to hit me once in each match, and both times it was his ballot grab. This might be a classic skill issue, and a better player could hit his attacks and keep up his nanomachines effectively enough to dominate. But it may also be a fundamental issue with the character. What do y'all think?
