Lore of the Mod:
Actual Lore:
Lyla was an Asur from Avelorn that was present during the last Tournament for the Everqueen's Champion. During the festival, she was seen by Tyrion Emeraldsea with flowers in her hair and a smile on her lips, the prince likening her laughter to the tinkling of silver bells. She met Tyrion that same night when he came for the tournament, the girl dancing past him - then skipping back over when he caught her eye, the reveler wanting to be sure who she was looking at - and if - indeed, he was Tyrion: hero of the Shrine of Asuryan. Ten minutes later, they were naked in her tent, "something to be said of the festive atmosphere", thought Tyrion. The prince would then leave as she slept to continue exploring the tent city the very same night.

Mod Lore:
Lyla was born through the union of the famous Chracian Warrior-Poet Mecelion and a princess-mage from Avelorn when they met during the year of common-court for Phoenix King Bel-Hathor and Everqueen Estrielle. Both her parents were close advisors to their respective monarchs and so, Lyla's childhood was a divided one between the two courts. She was noticed to be attuned to the Winds of Magic and it was the wish of her parents for her to become a mage like her mother. But Lyla had other plans. She quickly realized she hardly had any patience for the laid-back and studious lifestyle of mages and thus, resigned her studies. She returned to her parents, now residing in Avelorn together and while they were a bit dismayed, they supported Lyla's choice of path in life.

That path was one of martial combat, inspired as Lyla had been through her father's actions together with Bel-Hathor against Norscan raiders. Although drawn to the magnificence of Chracian ways of war, she found the rigid commandstructure of the White Lions distasteful and through her lot in with the local Rangers instead. She adopted a quick and agile fighting-style, combining one of her father's axes and a sword akin to the Rangers, but that wasn't the end of her skills. Remaining faithful to her Avelornian heritage as well, sha has homed her magical affinity as well, becoming especially attuned and practiced in the winds touching upon some of the fundamental elements of the world, namely water, earth, wind, fire and ice. Although she is primarily frontline fighter, she also wields some (compared to more studied mages) basic spells in support should the situation require.

Lyla has an independent and free mindset, with a perticular desire to prove herself in combat and to defend her twin homes. This led her to serving in both kingdom's militias, but more than anything to seek out martial tournaments. She thus had a burgeoning reputation as a champion when she entered her biggest challenge yet, the Champion's Tournament for the newly crowned Everqueen Alarielle. She fought with great success in the tournament and also enjoyed herself between fights, making (sometimes considerably more than a) passing aquiantance with other champions, including Prince Tyrion of Cothique. Ultimately, it stood between this Prince and Lyla when the final fight was set, but before it could begin, the Dark Elves invaded Ulthuan as part of the Great War Against Chaos.

While Tyrion wisked away the Everqueen, something Lyla thought to be quite presumptious, the Champion from Avelorn led the escape of survivors from the Tournament and slowly, began to rally the forces of Avelorn to face the coming onslaught. She fought a furious defense of Avelorn, with her forces becoming the focalpoint of resistance in the kingdom and herself a hero in the eyes of many. Soon enough, even the Maiden Guard, now without the Everqueen's guidance, subordinated themselves to her command, especially after a last-second rescue of Chief-Handmaiden Lirazel from a patrol of Cold One Riders. During her campaign in the Avelornian forests, Lyla also happened upon a wounded Griffon fighting a losing battle against a Bloodthirster and a contingent of Shades. The Avelornians set up an ambush against the Dark Elves, while Lyla threw herself against the Daemon of Khorne just as it was to land the deathblow on the Griffon.

Lyla hacked and sliced at the Daemon's flesh, making it focus on trying to smoosh her and buying time for the Griffon to recover. Seeing this, the intelligent Griffon recognized the Elf as an ally and rallied, took flight and picked her up with its eagle-clawed fore-legs. Then, they charged together from the air, with the end result being Lyla's Chracian axe buried deep into the Daemon's skull. Her valiant efforts had now given Lyla an ally for a lifetime, one she eventually named 'Dromui' after one of the Eltharin words for 'Hope'. Some time later, Lyla's mother also joined her daughter's forces with another contingent of survivors and resistance-fighters.

As the Dark Elves and Daemons pressed on however across Ulthuan, fighting was taking its toll on the High Elves everywhere and so, Lyla knew she had to act decisively. It was her decision to rally and coordinate all the disparate forces of Ulthuan into an all-or-nothing Battle of the Finuval Plain. Lyla fought her way to Saphery with the forces of Avelorn to find a gathering army from all over Ulthuan, including Chracian detachments commanded by her father Mecelion himself. Just as her mother, he was supremely impressed and proud of Lyla's accomplishments, as was his men who had heard tales of her heroism. Under her leadership, the High Elves were ready to make one last firm bid on survival and destruction of the invaders.

Alas, that was not to be. Just as the battle was brewing up, the Everqueen arrived, having been in hiding with Tyrion up until now and saved by Teclis from N'kari. Lyla dutifully stepped down from overall command in favour of Alarielle, but was again dismayed to find Prince Tyrion to have been made her Champion without having fought her as was the custom. No time to think about that though, as the greatest battle in the history of Ulthuan commenced. Lyla led a large contingent of troops in the middle of the fray, providing steady courage to the rank-and-file soldiers. While she yearned to aid Alarielle and the twins in their fight with Malekith, she could not dislodge herself from the carnage. She focused on one thing: holding the line. Suddenly, the Witch King was vanquished and his army crumbled. In the aftermath, as many soldiers that hailed the Everqueen and the Twins were also hailing the hero from Avelorn.

After the battle, as a sort of compensation and with assurances of favor, Lyla has been made commander-in-chieftess of the forces of Avelorn by Alarielle. While still thinking of Prince Tyrion as sort of an oppertunist usurper to the title of Champion of the Everqueen, Lyla is now quite content in her standing in the world. She is hailed as a celebrated hero across Ulthuan, is all but legendary in her native Chrace and Avelorn and has become one of the most powerful military commanders of the High Elven race. And yet, outside her island home lies a whole world to make a mark on...

Good write-up! You can set it in the present tense: "Lyla is an Asur..." etc. There is no indication that she is dead
