Pearlcat
Pearl Ability List
Would anyone mind listing pearls and their abilities? I've forgotten most of them after a few cycles, and the mod doesn't include a list of abilities, you just have to figure out.

White: sentry: emits brighter light than other pearls when placed.
active: can be turned into pearl spear when in active slot and pickup is held
passive: idk

Blue: sentry: idk
active: pressing pickup and jump in midair propels you like artificers bomb jump
passive: idk

red: sentry: attacks enemies
active: attacks enemies
passive: if you have multiple reds you only need one in active and the ones in inventory will still shoot

purple: sentry: idk
active: idk
passive: idk

black: sentry: idk
active: if you crawl or stand still with black pearl in active you will be less likely to be attacked by monsters(also will camo Pearlpup if he's on your back)
passive: idk

green: sentry: idk
active: if you have green in active and are holding a corpse you may hold pickup to spend the pearl and revive the corpse
passive: will give you a free revive once per cycle if not spent

yellow: sentry: idk
active: idk
passive: if you are hit with a spear or rock with a yellow pearl charged it will deflect the projectile and make you invincible for a short time

I don't know much about it either, but i hope this helps!
Addition!

Blue: sentry: Teleport beacon (teleports you by pressing)

purple: sentry: music

black: sentry: echolocation waves, to display the landscape

green: sentry: periodically heals mobs in the area

yellow: sentry: stains or pushes (I'm not sure which of these) - mobs in the area
What does Five Pebbles' big white pearl do? as sentry it just plays music, albeit different from the one in purple porl
UPDATE I figured it out - idk about active ability, but passive is vastly increased mobility(, not even Hunter kind of fast - Rivulet kind of fast), and as sentry it just plays music, as I already said. So the good thing about it is massive speed boost, really feels worthwile
ahh, active is even more speed boost
Also correction - blue pearl's doublejump is passive, for some reason

ohhhh that makes sense i wasnt even using it tytyty
What I'd like to know is more on the camo mechanic. At 2 black pearls the visual effect persists through moving while at least 4 are needed for it to persist through a quick turn around without it blinking off from the speed boost. I know it's not an official source, but the wiki is of the opinion that multiple black pearls don't have any additional effect. So I'm unsure if it's wrong or if it is just purely visual and I can't figure out how to begin to even properly test it.
I just learned that all pearls slightly decrease stats (speed, spear damage, jump height, etc.), except for white pearls, which increase them.

This is incorrect, The yellow sentry in my testing protects creatures in the area
can you play the purple pearls music or what cause i dont know how to get it to work
Pearlcat has 9 pearl slots in total available, unless changed in the remix settings. Each one has abilities, and while unique, color categories remain the same. Each color category will also have it’s own matching symbol, if your unsure what color the pearl applies to. Each additional pearl slightly decreases base stats. To cycle through pearls, you use A and D. To remove a pearl, hold shift + up with a free main hand. To add a pearl, hold shift + up with the desired pearl in your main hand. All pearls emit light around Pearlcat.

White (Commons)
Active: Hold shift to create a Pearl Spear. This gets finicky when holding a swallowable object. It does similar damage to an explosive spear. It can be re-used IF it does not make contact with the soft part of a creature: IE when thrown and not hitting anything, bouncing off a lizard head, etc. When hitting a creature it is a single charge and cannot be retrieved. The spear can be thrown into walls and climbed but cannot be retrieved (like typical spears.) You can restore an unused spear by returning it to the pearl inventory. Pearl spears are of equal value to pearls for Scavenger Tolls.
Passive: Unsure.
Sentry: Becomes a stationary light, additional to the light around Pearlcat.

Black (On game start, Pebbles Chamber)
Active: When holding still or crawling, you blend into the background and become more difficult for enemies to see. Not full invisibility. 2 pearls doesn't change, but at 3 you maintain the screen even during some movements (like running.) In dark areas like the shaded citadel, it also slightly projects a yellow hollogram similar to monks overseer one, in stacking with the glow all pearls give.
Passive: Unsure.
Sentry: Emits occasional pulses of yellow light that act as an overlay to terrain, similar to the overseer light monk receives. It will reveal topography, and when used carefully can assist to spot white lizards and dropwigs.

Red
Active: Fires a small laser beam that does damage to hostile mobs with a short recharge. This will apply to scavengers if your reputation is low enough, so be cautious. It will not fire to invisible enemies, such as a camouflaged lizard or a hanging dropwig.
Passive: Additional red pearls will add to the number of laser beams you get. Each pearl does not increase the damage or decrease the recharge, it only adds a new beam. You must have 1 red pearl in your active slot for this to function.
Sentry: When placed and visible (on the same screen) the sentry will fire like normal but in it’s new location. Each red pearl can be it’s own sentry and they will function separately (if in view.) This works even when you switch to a different active pearl. If you keep the sentry (or a second red pearl) in your active slot, one will fire from the sentry and any additional pearls you have will fire from your location as normal.

Orange/Yellow
Active: Unsure.
Passive: When hit by a rock, spear, harpoon, or similar, it will deflect and consume a charge. This also applies to being hit/grabbed by any hostile mob. It will also briefly repel worm grass (Even the red kind in Farm arrays.) Recharges after a small amount of time (longer than red pearls.) Each additional pearl will provide a new charge. If you have an available shield charge, when you run out of your breath meter the shield will activate and reset your breath to full.
Sentry: Provides a circle of space similar to the passive shield charge that prevents creatures or projectiles from entering, but will remain “protected” for longer before a single charge runs out. Occasionally it will bounce back and stun a mob for a brief time, but this is not consistent. When placed near a pipe, a small glyph will appear, it will prevent entry to a hostile mob and lock the pipe (not sure on passive mobs.) Each charge takes significantly longer to replenish than passive pearls. Mini transitions (triangles) can also be blocked, and any number of them can be if its within the radius. If you block a mini transition and go through the other end, it will block you.

Green
Active: When holding a mob, hold shift to revive it. This pearl can only be used once per cycle, but additional pearls will add charges. Be cautious as this does not make hostile mobs passive (attempted to tame a lizard.)
Passive: Revives the player in certain scenarios such as falling into death pits. Provides a temporary shield similar to yellow pearls after revival.
Sentry: Unsure, possibly passively heals mobs in its radius.

Blue
Active: Unsure.
Passive: Allows a double jump similar to Artificer. Unlike Artificer, you cannot use the down key to create a concussive blast and the only cooldown is touching another surface instead of the sparking Artificer will have. Each additional pearl allows another jump before touching a surface. This, however, DOES create a stun similar to artificer if too many blue pearls are used rapidly.
Sentry: When placed, can be used again (with c) to teleport to the location of placement. This has a significant cooldown, and until that cooldown is up cannot be placed or used for a double jump. This will apply to different screens in the same room, but moving to another room will automatically put the pearl back in the inventory. Do NOT use to travel between sides of a gate room as it will softlock the game. The pearl can only be retrieved without teleporting by pressing c when within the circle of the sentry.

Pebbles Exclusive:
Both of these pearls have unique symbols, unlike other colors that have group symbols.
Purple
Active: Unsure.
Passive: Unsure.
Sentry: Plays the music heard in Pebble’s Pearl in places like Rivulets and Saints Campaigns. Note: You lose this pearl after visiting Five Pebbles and it is replaced with a unique white pearl.
White
Active: Significantly increases speed (possibly base stats, have not researched and am unsure.) This is particularly useful to help counteract the stat debuffs from extra pearls in the inventory.
Passive: Minorly increases base stats, will not increase speed as an active pearl does.
Sentry: Plays music.
This pearl does not turn into a spear like other white pearls. It can only be attained by visiting Five Pebbles and replaces the purple pearl received in the games tutorial.

Fun trivia:
Pearls in the active state change the color of neuron glow and the small dots present to show slugcat moving through a shortcut/room transition.
Lizard tongues can grab the floating pearls around Pearlcat, but they will float back after a few seconds.
When being stunned by hitting a floor, all the pearls will temporarily stop floating and clatter across the surface.
Under heavy rain, colored sparks will fly from the pearls.
Colored pearls in Pearlcats inventory do not show up as an Icon on the map.
The animation cycles of the pearls change depending on how many of them are in your inventory.

info after an update, tested with "testing arenas", "beastmaster", "health bars" and "mouse drag":

blue
passive:double jump similar to artificer. each pearl grants you an additional jump so for example if you have 3 blue pearls you can do 3 jumps before touching the ground (can overheat like artificer if done too often)
sentry:if you are not in the circle around the pearl, pressing sentry will teleport you to it and put it on cooldown, otherwise you will retrieve it
passive: speed increase (im not 100% sure about that)

red:
active:all red pearls circle around you, hitting it with a thrown item will cause the item to ricochet into an agressive creature, each ricochet increases its damage
sentry:places down a stationary ricochet point

yellow:
passive:shield that activates when being grabbed, bitten, being hit by an item or a leech ataching to you, 1600 frames cooldown
sentry: place a force field, when a creature or a thrown item gets in its radius it will activate, pushing them away for a few seconds and going on cooldown after that

black:
this one was weird to test
active:become invisible when crawling or not moving. stacking it seems to increase how fast you cloak, movement speed, spear damage and throwing strengh
at 3 black pearls you remain cloaked while running. at 6 you will be cloaked while rolling. jumping and falling will always reveal you.
also gives you a glow similar to overseer in monk's campaign when its dark
sentry: periodically emits a pulse similar to overseer in monk's campaign

green:
passive:revive yourself once per cycle.
active:hold GRAB while holding a dead creature to revive it. reviving seems to increase your reputation with them. goes on cooldown for the rest of the cycle afterwards.

white:
active:hold GRAB to turn it into a spear that teleports back into your hands after being thrown unless it sticks into a wall. you can turn it back into a pearl by equipping it
sentry:when pressing sentry again, the pearl explodes, dealing damage and stunning creatures in its radius. if you are in its radius you will retrieve it instead
passive: increases movement speed, spear damage and spear throwing strengh

music pearl (purple):
passive:increases movement speed
active:increases movement speed further
sentry:plays halcyon memories

pebbles's pearl:
the same as music pearl but speed increase is higher and plays different music
