The Eye lore says:
"A needle, the poison, a yearning of yore,
to shatter the windows and open the door".
The Hand lore says:
"Gold quicksilver, bind Moon and Sun
Crimson sky, shroud the light for all but one."
(I'm writing these from memory, but I shouldn't be missing important words)
Now the problem is, most people would assume that the first line refers to one component and the second like refers to the second component.
According to the this logic, "A needle, the poison, a yearning of yore" is the ingredient. Now "needle" would mean the Skaptodon Fang, "poison" can refer to any poison ingredient, while "yearning of yore" would mean any Moth ingredient. Obviously, only one of these can be true.
And "shatter the windows and open the door" would refer to a Knock influence. Now imagine my surprise when I find out that the first line refers to both components (the poison + a yearning of yore), while the "needle" and "shatter the windows and open the door" are both red herrings. Not cool.
In the second verse, I took "gold quicksilver" as referring to a Lantern ingredient, and I probably wasn't the only one. "Crimson sky" too, would look like an obvious reference to a Heart influence, since it's red, and Heart influences have the word "Airs" in them. Air = sky.
People will think of these wrong solutions because contrary to your hints, the real components are NOT found at Gladwyn Lake and Key-Hunter's Garret. They are only available from repeat locations, and most people will never explore those, because there are usually a lot of leftover unique locations with less obstacles and better rewards. So most people will not even encounter the real required components in the game, and will associate onto the next best (incorrect) thing.
I'd advise everyone to check the spoiler and start farming the required repeat locations for the components. I love the mod so far, but this is a badly designed part with "hints" that actively sabotage the player.
