I don’t know what the Dev calls these rooms but I started in the area with the door and started naming major areas. These are my names and can change later. (Side note: Good job making the map interesting to explore. I LIVE for these kinds of maps.)
The Temple: The small area with the chess puzzle.
The Ratman Room: Hidden room in the Temple with the first piece. You can climb the wall as if it were a ladder to reach up there. There’s also a vent that leads there. Of note it has some writing on the wall that looks like clues and some world building. Looks like the world was split and regrew like a tapeworm? The Queen is here.
The Shaft: Large Lava Area just outside the Temple and something of the Hub of the map.
The Tangle: The Lava Area connected to the Shaft with two slanted and tangled platform areas.
The Well: Also connected to the Shaft opposite the Tangle. It has a stairwell that leads up into the ceiling into the City.
The City: Complex system of rooms. Kind of pleasant here.
The Halls: Large and cathedral like hallways that connect the Shaft to the Mosaic.
The Spike Room: The Room that has a huge white spike in it.
The Mosaic: Fourth Lava Room with a huge Mosaic on the wall that seems to depict the map itself.
The Womb Room: A Room in the lower city that has a bloody mark on the ceiling. A glitchy baby can be found here and, if destroyed, with rebirth out of the bloody mark.
The Crypt: The areas down the hole from the Temple. Accessible first through the Spike Room.
There is also Two vents connecting this all and at least one set of rock tunnels.
This map may take some archaeology.
- The Queen in the Ratman Room is the most obvious. Something of a tutorial piece.
- The Pawn is in…I guess I’ll call it a Spike Room? It’s floating WAY up above the spike in a shaft. No clue how to lower it. The Spike seems to be significant, and I’m not sure how. You can see it if you zoom in and, I admit, I no-clipped just to see what it was.
That’s all I’ve got. Will report more as I find it.
I must say, GMod has some strange programming. I set up a room with coffee, books, and comfy props as a Head Quarters for my exploration, including keeping the Queen in said room, then saved my game. When I reloaded, the Queen could not longer be picked up without the grav gun.
I don't think that was a bug on your part. I think that's GMod being more GMod than usual.
It was located In the Upper City
Where? In the room with the Tunnels entrance. Look for a scrape mark on the floor and destroy that wall.
It's at The Spike Room, connected to the Halls
To get it, you need The Glitchy Baby which is found at the lower city.
Once you have it, take it to The Spike Room and drop it on the spike.
King: It's at the back of the tangle room at the bottom of one of the pillars.
Rook: It's across from the Ratman Room, in that mirrored staircase. Break the wall where the scratches are on the floor.
yeah I have no idea what to do after gathering all the chess pieces I've tried throwing ragdolls into the hole but that didnt do anything and jumping in it yourself puts you into a loop until it puts you at spawn or into the lava
