Half Life 2 Animation Fix

An issue regarding the latest update...
I cannot find any other way to contact you, so this is the best thing I can do right now. I can see why you decided to remove the models and animations for Kleiner, Alyx, and the Vortiguants. However, because of that, a new issue arises regarding animation conflicts with another addon I need to have for the set of addons I downloaded for the HL campaigns on this game: the Episodic NPC Model Fix addon.

You see, that addon attempts to fix some issues regarding animations for the episodes, but it completely breaks the base Half-Life 2, and even Episodic animations ironically for characters like Alyx, Dog, etc, making the game unplayable at certain points. However, the models and animations for this addon actually override the broken animations from the other addon, making it so that they actually work.

However, since you removed the animations from Alyx, Kleiner, the Vorts, the game now prioritizes the broken Alyx, and possibly Kleiner and Vortiguant mdl files from that addon now, reverting me back to square one.

I beg of you to revert back to the June 27th update, because without the Alyx, Kleiner, and Vortiguant models, the game is basically unplayable for me, and maybe some others as well.

Because even if Facepunch keeps updating and fixing the animations for the other characters, your addon actually has the advantage of being able to override the broken animations from the addon I mentioned, and maybe even other addons. It's also the perfect way to make your addon not redundant in the future in my opinion.

I see. You honestly make a fair point, and I probably will revert the changes. Just for curiosity, what does the Episodic NPC Model Fix addon do, exactly? For the most part, the Animation Fix should already be more than enough to make the campaigns playable.

I mainly use that addon because it's a requirement for another addon that I'm using. I'm basically playing through all the HL campaigns using a random npc spawner, and I decided to use an addon called Slightly Improved Combine and Resistance NPCs for the HL2 npcs, instead of the vanilla ones. Mainly because of the fact that addon has the finishers and abilities from the episodes and other behaviours that the vanilla npcs do not have. And one of the requirements is the Episodic NPC Model Fix addon.

I've also tested certain moments of the campaigns using this mod, and yes, they still work as intended with your models still in place. For example, for the intro of Episode 1, the Vortiguants still have their blue texture with this addons models in place, so everything still works as normal. If anything, keeping the models and animations work hand in hand with Facepunch's improvements, and actually enhance the experience from my experiences with this addon.
