here is bug ive noticed, but i am not sure if this is a bug or if it is indended.

when "witch_autocrown" is set to "1" like it is by default. the only time a bot will auto crown a witch and that is if that bot is leading.

example: if im not looking at any bot and use toe "lead" command from the vocolizer. all bots lead (like normal i assume? or it picks a random bot to lead looks like) but not a single bot crowns a witch on their path. even if they have a shotgun.

i instead had to look at Coach (who had a shotgun) and use the "look" command, followed by "lead" command. coach then took the lead and he indeed auto crowned some witches

i could have also typed in chat "coach lead" to work instead of using vocolizer. but i like using it lol.

but yeah. not sure if this is a bug or an intended feature. if it's intended then fair enough. this post can be ignored

Found another bug. in the "cvars.txt" file. you have these commands

"allow_all_bot_survivor_team 1
sb_all_bot_game 1
sb_debug_apoproach_wait_time 0.5
sb_enforce_proximity_range 20000 "

(used quotes to mark them better in this bug report)

but, you might notice something or maybe not. there is a single space bar pressed at the tail end of the "20000 " line part. that was not done by me, if you would open it with say notepad++ that would come out as "nul" or if you save it with normal notepad it comes out as if someone opened a notepad, pressed spacebar 1 single time, then saved it.

what im getting at is, if you remove that single space bar line (aka nul line) at the tail end. the bots will NEVER open a single door with the "lead" command. they just get stuck at all doors. even the safe room door.

so to fix this, you need to re add back in that single space bar key press. when i tried to add in this cvar the "sb_allow_shoot_through_survivors 1" i didn't know how important that single space par press is (using quotes to show where it is)

Yes the witch autocrown is triggered by the bot starting a PAUSE because of a witch nearby. PAUSE refers to a pause to the current order, so the bot has to be executing an order to trigger the autocrown. This was intended because it makes sense to autocrown a witch when she interferes with the bot leading the way. Normally, when you are the leader you may want to decide what is the best moment to crown the witch or if you want to do it yourself. Btw you don't need to select the bot first, you can just use the "Witch" vocalizer on the witch and the addon will automatically send the closest bot with a shotgun.

The NUL at the end of the config files are automatically added by the vscript function that writes the files, you can ignore it or remove it.

Actually it is the vanilla AI that opens the doors when the bot is trying to walk past them. Most of the times it does it just fine but sometimes it refuses to do it, especially with the saferoom doors that are still locked. I don't know why but maybe i can change this in the future and force the door opening with the addon.

Weird cause its a constant bug. If i remove the "NUL" the bots refuse to open doors. I add it back and they once again can open doors. I tested it 4 times on Streets level of Dead Center

Okay, I've been trying to give this the benefit of the doubt, but I'm tired and have been testing this mod for over twelve hours now.

The survivors don't follow you, and when they do they're incredibly slow and annoying to deal with, (somehow less efficient than the default bots) and they're never in any particular rush to save you when you're pinned by a special.
About 80% of the commands do not work, and when they do it’s only if you type them into the chatbox and not via vocalizer. They never pick up custom melee weapons, even if it's just to hold onto them until they find something they do like. The only aspect that seems to work as intended was the bot weapon preferences.
I get it's in beta, so hopefully this can be somewhat useful to you, but it feels like all the features that did work here could have just been included as an update to the base left 4 bots mod.
And I'm sorry if this sounded rude, I have been testing it for over 12 hours and I'm tired.

I genuinely don’t know if something is somehow screwing with my files to prevent this mod from working, if the whole point of making them seem human was the possibility of said humans just hating me, or if I’m just going crazy, but I hope these issues can be resolved soon as I’ve been looking forward to this mod for months.

You must be speed running or something, because the only time the bots never keep up to me is if i just b-line straight to the end. Even vanilla bots never keep up if i b-line straight for the end of a level.

As for the commands not working, have you tried to freshly install the mod and only have this mod plus left 4 lib enabled?

Like im curious. On average how long does it take you to beat dead center
? For me it takes 14-18 minutes. If it takes you 10 or less then you are a fast player. Bots are not human, their path finding gets them stuck a lot :)

I'm not making a B-Line for the saferoom, I'm trying to head over at a reasonable pace and they still refuse to cooperate. Yes I've tried a fresh install with the newest version of left 4 lib.

As for how long these take me, about a half hour or so, I have a mod that increases the amount of zombies. I'm not rushing ahead or trying to leave them behind, and even in tests with god mode they still get stuck doing basically nothing particularly useful.

That is weird because the bots seem to keep up with me pretty good.. maybe you have a conflicting mod..?

From what you guys say it looks like you both have something (maybe another addon) causing errors to the vscript code of the addon. Try checking the console and look for VScript errors. It might help enabling the console logging to file (-condebug), then open the console.log file and search for these terms:
an error
excep
[error]

The bots work fine on my end. The only thing that doesn’t work so far is vocalizer commands.

Rochelle and just stood there to watch Coach die as those two decided to just stay a quarter through the map, and when I got incapacitated Ellis just stood there instead of trying to help, and let me bleed out.

This is all bug i know after playing 1 expert realism game:
1. Bots will heal themselves no matter what you looking for or they HP if you use vocalizer (chat commands work fine if you not use "bots heal"). "iMT_PlayerSuggestHealth"
2. When you use vocalizer commands "bots wait or PlayerWaitHere " bots will stand still until they dead or campaigns Restart (I try to cancelled status but not working)

Idk i can't tell what is the issue from here. I still think that the best thing you can do is enable the console logging and look for vscript errors as i said earlier.

You cancel the wait order with "Stay Together" vocalizer line, or "bots cancel" in chat.
