Can Left 4 bots 2 pair with random object spawner?
hours ago i downloaded l4bots2 here, and noticed the bot constantly going backward in swamp fever map one. can this mod actually work without NavFixes? i guess random object spawner messing with the bot mod.

NavFixes isn't mandatory. I don't know about the object spawner mod, i never tried it but you can try disabling it and see what happens.

from my testing, it does work to some extend. but also, the bots have an issue in general (this issue also happens if you just use L4B2 and Left 4 Lib without any other mods) sometimes when you ask the bots "with you" they just will NOT lead no matter what and I've no idea what causes this, it happens if you try and use the "with you" command almost halfway through the map so best to get the bots to lead at the very start of a map.

That's interesting, cuz i can't find the reason of them constantly going back to the crescendo event boat in Swamp Fever Chap 1, i deleted L4B2 and the issue is fixed, love this mod but sometimes it just doesn't work as expected:(

it is possible sometimes that the automation scripts are "out of sync" cause they missed some event or something and so they think they're in a different "stage" of the map making the bot not execute the next command or trying to execute an earlier one. Yes it mostly happens when you start the automation with "i'm with you" later in the map.
When it happens you need to cancel with "stay together", carry them ahead and maybe try again later. Sometimes the scripts fix themselves when another "stage" of the map is triggered.

ive tried multiple times, leading them ahead does "sometimes" work, but most often it fails. i don't know if it's possible to add "checks" to see what section of the map a bot is in, but yeah it is a little bit annoying that it fails most of the time. this is worse on custom maps where you have no idea where to go and you ask the bots "im with you" and they just stand around halfway through the map basically going "hurr durr idk where to go either!"

Tried to walk quite a bit, then use the bots warp command. Usually, after teleporting, they fix themselves. I usually have to do this for Buried Deep when the garage door on chapter 3 is not open by rng or in Yama chapter 2 where they don't recognize the stair at the end of the road until I literally put them in front of it. Basically, try alternative routes or change their angle of approaching.

happens on the main default campaigns usually about halfway through the map. also, is it normal that the automotion just "ends" when rescue arrives?

i did The Last Stand and was on the bots team, and when the rescue boat arrived, instead of the bots just auto going to the boat, they instead decided to end their automotion and just follow me like normal. i could understand them ending it if i had installed the script that makes them not res me of i was down. but i never had that installed. they just straight up end their automotion on some levels with a rescue

No Mercy final and The Last Stand and 2 of the ones ive noticed this on. i think it also happens with Crash Course? not sure.

It's probably because the tank spawn in. In almost every final, the tank will spawn when the rescues vehicle arrive and they are suppose to stay with you when that happen. I usually just ran straight into the vehicle. Does they still stay after the tank is killed (Make sure the map wasn't scripted to spawn infinite tank.)?

I remember discussing this issue before, set "lead_pause_behind_dist" to 0 should fix it.

my "lead_pause_behind_distr" is set to 0 yet sometimes they don't lead when halfway through a campaign. on Dark Carnival, if i get close to the coaster button and ask them to "im with you" they legit path find all the way back to the part in the tunnel of love where you drop down and just stand there, unless i personally activate the coaster, then their automotion goes "oh right we start here at coaster"

as for the bots stopping their leading when rescue arrives. why? makes no sense. if an "all bot" team can perfectly path find to the rescue vehicle after the final rescue arrives (ive seen it happen on Smilzo's videos of bots beating a campaign on advanced difficulty), why does having a human player on their team suddenly stop that?

In smilzo's videos, automation was closed at the time, and there are no human player, so they rush to rescue vehicle, otherwise they follow a human player.

The best option for a campaign with automation is to use "With You" at the start of every saferoom and then walk out of the saferoom for them to start. I just follow them then, let them pick up whatever they want, and wait patiently for them to kill stuff. For example, after letting them kill everything in front of the coaster button, they activate it just fine. The automation never fails me unless I give other orders (This is still rare). I only use lead in campaigns without automation.

I know what the problem is. As smilzo said, automation is executed in stages, and when you start the automation in front of the coaster button, bots are actually executing the task they missed last time, so they go back, there is a pain pills cabinet as a node to regroup, and then execute the task of starting the coaster again.
This problem can be easily solved, once you find that they are going back, use the "Wait" vocalizer.
