This Was Amazing
Just wanted to give my thanks to CounterCurrent for making the best-looking Penumbra yet and delivering the first part of a fascinating narrative centered around Red...I mean talk about creativity, this mod continues to prove how diverse and interesting the Penumbra world is! Narratively, this feels like CounterCurrent's best work-- I think the storytelling has gotten much better since Necrologue and Twilight (those are still amazing, especially the former.)

Inevitably I'm sure there will be people who didn't like certain things, complain about puzzles, etc. but as a longtime Frictional/CounterCurrent player, this first chapter felt right at home for me. It was instantly familiar, yet fresh and new from the past Penumbras. Red makes a great protagonist and his story is very interesting, especially the flashbacks. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't played it yet, but the NPCs are VERY creative and fun to encounter-- I found their balancing to be very good. Also, we have another great Julien Hauspie soundtrack, this time with some collaboration with Mikko Tarmia himself! This feels like such an official Penumbra game, just like Necrologue did, that the only way it could feel more official would be for Frictional to acquire CounterCurrent...but who knows if we the players or either game dev would want such an outcome?

Thanks so much to all who have worked tirelessly on the CounterCurrent Penumbra games over the years. Thanks to all your hard work and dedication, we hardcore Penumbra fans now have a series that is twice as long as it originally was. Can't wait for Chapter 2!
