Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

The Old Realms - Core (Season of Doom)
Blood Knight Summon Spirits
Can you summon spirits as a Blood Knight?
I've tried several times in such a place, but after the timer runs out, nothing happens.
Is this class-related? Or could it be a bug?
Do you need spellcasting skills for that? Or a Necromancer in the party?

pls Help xD

You mean wraiths ? As a blood knight you can't do it yourself, you need a necromancer or vampire companion in your party to do so

Thx and Yes sorry I meant wraiths.
I've now spent a focus point on Spellcraft and increased my Spellcraft level with a book.
Now I can summon wraiths without companions, and I'm also offered more undead after the battle :)

Ah i see, that is one way of leveling spellcraft, but keep in mind a blood knight is locked out of magic, so those focus points are just wasted, instead a necromancer companion or vampire companion would've been a better investment

Yes, I came to the same conclusion in retrospect :) Well, what the heck, learn by doing.

I've discarded the wraiths again and hardly take any vampires with me.
I don't understand how you're supposed to maintain them?
As a "Carstein," you have no passive dark energy income, nor any perks to reduce dark energy maintenance costs.
And even a single "Carstein Knight" costs 4 per unit. (There are two more levels to go.)
I have a ridiculous 20 of them now, and they already need 80 energy every day.

On top of that, the Sylvania faction is currently being severely decimated, which further reduces passive income from castles/cities.

In my current playthrough, it's almost impossible to take vampires or wraiths with me in adequate numbers.

It would be great if you took another look at this dark energy maintenance mechanic; I find it pretty nasty compared to other factions.

All VC careers have passive DE income called dark tribute, which is earned by being part of a faction that owns fiefs, if you own the fief yourself its doubled.

Besides that you get most of your DE from doing battles, but yes, the upkeep is meant exactly so you can't just run around with a maxed out tier 9 party that demolishes everything, we dislike that about vanilla so introduced this custom resource mechanic.

80 upkeep per day isnt that much though, i have 500 per day and get 1000+ per battle, atm you can also just give them to clan party leaders.

VC isnt the only culture that has upkeep either, nearly everyone does besides eonir which instead have high gold upkeep, and Empire which does not have upkeep, but earn prestige at a far lower rate instead.

But wouldn't it make more sense to raise the cap from 2500?

Otherwise, you'd theoretically have to limit gold.

I really like the mechanics, but if I have a very strong troop that easily gets 500 upkeep per day, I'm brutally forced to raid something (no respite possible).

Cap will be raised to 5000.

And gold is a vanilla resource, we moved over to custom resources because of it. Elite units are limited.

Perfect 5000 is I think optimal for the balance :)
