I'm loving the idea of the Vampire but starting as a human Mercenary seemed like the better running-start for me.
Chances are I'm just going to serve under someone while I get the lay of the land and cut my teeth - so to speak.
It'll also make for some interesting (if not cliche) character development when I could later "turn to the darkside."
Just be aware that if you're doing work in Sylvania as a faction friendly human merc, you will take attrition in the cursed areas (the mists).

You only have the two (really bad) Silvanian human units: a swordsman path and an archer path.
I have no idea how that's supposed to work long-term without the Blood Kiss, and since there's no hybrid career, but everything is completely swapped, it's better to start as a vampire.
