Hearts of Iron IV

Enclave Reborn Redux
Purges
Does anyone know if it is possible to bypass the purges as Reform?

I've only had one game where I was able to bypass the purges for the scientists because the event hadn't happened by the time I finished the focus consolidate power. I've always had to purge the Officers but have been able to convert the generals with a charismatic Granite through events with varying success.

Are the events random or do they get triggered by certain conditions?

I will have an answer after I wake up.

I know it's a ratio of Intellectuals over Purists

Its alright I appreciate your time. I'm a serial re-starter so I've played the first couple of years a few times now and there's always something new which is good. Enjoying it more than the base game tbh.

The only issue I run into is if the scientists don't revolt before consolidating power they remain Purist so the party will get the buff to popularity even after the purges are complete and I think I still get the Brain Drain event.

Officers:
trigger = {
has_completed_focus = enc_reform
has_idea = ENC_officers
NOT = {
has_completed_focus = enc_purge_officers
}
}
mean_time_to_happen = {
days = 30
}

Scientists:
trigger = {
has_completed_focus = enc_reform
has_idea = ENC_scientists
NOT = {
has_completed_focus = enc_purge_scientists
}
}
mean_time_to_happen = {
days = 30
}

Okay, I looked it up,

turns out no it just happens within a mean time of 30 days.

Both for Officers and Scientists.

Which means it has a chance to fire every 30 days.

Damn, you really gotta beat the clock with this one.
