M14: while the M1 Garand is a fantastic battle rifle, combat experience show that reloading stripper clips can be messy and slow. a magazine fed M1 Garand is developed and begin equipping frontline units - the M14

M72 LAW: irl the LAW came into service in 1963. in CoS, US combat encounters with German Panzerfaust urge US arms industry to innovate a similar weapon and press into service with frontline units. it is known as the XM72 LAW

MG42: irl US tried copying the MG42 as the T24 MG chambered in .30-06. in CoS, the US further develop and perfect the T24 into the XM24. the XM24 gives US field commanders another option of machinegun power

AR10: irl the AR-10 (along with T44 & T48 rifles) entered a 1955 competition to replace the M1 Garand. long story short, this competition ended up with M16 entering service in 1964. in CoS, US is impressed by German Stg44 and Russian AKs so US start developing XAR-10 and in 1947 it begins equipping special forces units.
