Rule Mechanics
Here is where I will explain what each rule does in specific.

For those interested in the technical details:

  • More difficulty(only applies if difficulty setting is set to insane)
    • Succession: ai will designate their heir depending on heir's skills, heir's health, heir's genes, heir's lifestyle traits, heir's prestige and piety, heir's and ruler's personality, and ruler's opinion of heir. It also factors in if the heir shares the same faith or culture or both as the ruler. How player would generally pick their best heir.
    • Marriage, similarly, ai will tried to marry a noble spouse of good gene like player! It's the meta, it has always been. Ai however, won't marry way out of their age range to ensure good fertility.
    • Ai will be rewarded with extra income for provinces that they maintained good control of, and they will generally get out of low control faster.
  • Keep Childhood Trait: childhood traits now have experience and its track!
    • This "experience" increases or decreases yearly depending on the level of "compatibility" decided by numerous factors including but not limited to existing personality traits, lifestyle traits, their related stats, and age. Characters usually accumulates experience during childhood and are more likely to lose them as they age(maximum capped around their 20's, that is any older age will not increase the chance of losing experience further); when a character's experience hits 0 on the track, they lose their trait forever.
    • Children are more likely to gain experience in their childhood trait when they have compatible focus; similarly, adults are less likely to lose experience if they had the right education trait - the level of their education also matters.
    • Note: it is entirely possible for a child to lose their childhood trait before they are adult, granted they're wholly incompatible with the trait.
  • Decline of Health: (beta) progressive diseases and harsher aging
    • Diseases will progress with trait experience, becoming worse as time go. How fast each disease progress first and foremost depends on its type: is chronic like lover pox or infectious like small pox, or something in-between? Then factors of plausible hygiene, physiques, and other things like stress and age are considered; for examples, a wanderer is likely less clean than a noble, thus is assumed to have lower hygiene, and someone in their prime will have stronger immune system than they are a child or elder.
    • Updated Content: Characters over 40 will now experience harsher health decline with age that involves mainly stress, weight, and relationships. High stress will now accelerate aging exponentially, which means no amount of positive health modifiers(from base game alone) can save you from death. Being overweight or underweight will also accelerate aging, exponentially. Having a active lifestyle, like being a hunter will slow this down. Additionally, having a lot of friends and relationships in general will help you live longer. Conversely, having little to no relationships will literally hasten your death. Good luck!
    • Beta: everything should work, let me know if anything breaks. Feedback are always welcomed, as well as suggestions for feature, balance, or otherwise. Have fun!
  • Surprise War: (beta) should be fine; let me know if there is bug
    • You can move your army to your enemy and declare war at their door step. You can even move into their territory and declare war there, but beware that this would be considered a surprise attack and you'll trigger an event for it. From it, an honorable third-party ruler may choose to intervene against the attacker.
    • Note: the AI probably won't do this just because they can now as they're not taught to.
    • Next? I might make it so any other rule can choose to join the defender as well.
    • Beta: everything should work, let me know if anything breaks. Feedback are always welcomed, as well as suggestions for feature, balance, or otherwise. Have fun!
