Stats
well,this could be a little better weapon to pair you up with the demo in speed and ading a little more resistance to push

Stats:
15% faster(demomans speed)
25% Resistance to Pushing(airblasts,rockets and everything that pushes you)

Craft blueprint:
Mantreads+Gunboats+Concheror
goes for primary slot creating the new subclass:
Soldier Knight

The soldier would need something like demoman's shield in the secondary slot to justify having to give up your rocket launcher for these.

The concheror and Battalions backup maybe waht you're looking for.
as they are good enough that would be like a shield but not giving rsistance,but banners that make you faster or resistant to damage.

Demoman's shields only work because they close the distance between him and the target extremely quickly. The soldier would still need to find a way to build up kills before getting to use his banners, and getting close to people without the added resistances and speed is suicidal.

Demoman's shields only work because they close the distance between him and the target extremely quickly. The soldier would still need to find a way to build up kills before getting to use his banners, and getting close to people without the added resistances and speed is suicidal.
Just give him ninja stars or something. No need for a shield, ninjas and samuri arn't assosiated with sields anyway. If ninja stars are the secondary weapon it can be used as a low acuracy, bleed inflicting and kick ass weapon. Also a katana would be the obviouse melie option.
