The floor spikes look odd to me. Maybe something else could be done with the idea, such as changing them to shorter floor spikes that come out closer around the player. I'm thinking Crystal Heart's build-up levels of close. This could help them not feel out-of-place, since the scale-to-detail would be a lot more in-line with R.W.
The explosion on "death" doesn't feel like it's art style fits in. I think it would look much better if it simply had the black outline removed. Almost nothing, if not nothing, in R.W. has an outline like that.
