I'm pretty sure it's just a meme between Klei and Re-Logic (the creators of Terraria)
Since Terraria already has the name "Eye of Cthulhu" they probably thought it wise to just change it. But I could add it to my mod. Also, I'm pretty sure someone already made a mod for that exact purpose. Even more, I'm pretty sure even Terraria doesn't have Cthulhu in the game. fyi
That's a really interesting concept! I like the idea alot! I'm still working on implementing the new "Madness meter" and it would determine whether or not monsters from the mod should spawn (just like the sanity monsters but Cthulhu style) but adding a way to make some "fake monsters" appear would also be a great addition! Thanks for your input!
The truth is that I leave the freedom to the creator of what his abilities would be like but I have some ideas and one of them would be to summon tentacles sacrificing part of his sanity like Micolash does in Bloodborne, he would summon portals from which tentacles would come out, he could also summon those portals to connect one place with another like wormholes do.
He would become stronger the less sanity he had.
He would be a weak character, therefore he should have low health but a fairly high madness resistance.
He would be more of a character to play from afar than up close, something like a magician and with his spells he would drive crazy those who got in his way.
