In the Building Menu for building fences, certain pieces like posts and corners have fixed orientations due to the way they are designed to visually connect.

The posts and pillars are designed for V-shaped fences/walls, as shown at the bottom of this image[imgur.com], on the lower left. That bottom part is built on 3 tiles, the fences on the right and left on the green tiles and the pillar on the blue tile. As you can see at the top, the corner is built only on one tile, if you were to rotate the corner, when you build the other pieces they will not connect correctly.

These corner pieces are made for fences that face upwards (northwest - NW). If players were able to rotate these corner pieces freely, they would potentially overlap in an unsightly manner. And they don't need to be rotated because you can build with the other pieces.


To build the secret entrances you first need to read the recipe magazine. Then "Secret Entrance Shelf" must be built on walls and "Secret Entrance Door" can only be built in door frames. Shelfs cannot be opened, they are just containers and the doors have no container and can be opened.
