One of the best methods i found it was a). head south from the crossroads, not recomeneded (quite difficult), or b). southeast road, project zomboid cardinal directions, head to last area of opening by heading northwest from the road, then cut into the woods heading west and then heading 30-75 tiles north while you do this, then also pay attention to foliage and once you find the edges of the mod map head to the dead center to find it.
