It's so there's a way to stop an infected from basically 1-shotting you when you're on you're own.
But here, there's no counter-play besides hope he doesn't spawn and if he does, shove and shoot him until he dies. And if there's a horde or a tank on your ass well you'll just have to give up all your items. Good luck surviving with one pistol.
I think he would be better if he just took your primary weapon. Along with having a distinct "heads up" before he appears behind you to take it.
You might think it defeats the purpose if the survivor knows he's coming, but what if you could make them choose between focusing a tank or turning their focus away from said tank in order to keep their gun?
To add to that, maybe make him only spawn when there's a tank/horde/witch present. Since those are the times you need your primary weapon the most.
Lastly he needs to have less health. Take away his bullet resistance and make his HP 250-600.
I agree we should be able to have a chance to kill him, before he gets to you, maybe making him run at you very quickly with maybe a little sound effect when he spawns
It happenned to me when I was focusing the tank in advanced with a shotgun, horrible, its a bad idea to make him spawn when theres a tank
