How about to make able to choose a player to see your marks?
Aaron  [developer] 11 Nov, 2023 @ 12:13pm
What do you mean?
Like, add players that are allowed to see pings?

you should get it to automatically ping an enemy when you look at enemy npcs
Mr Commando! 12 Nov, 2023 @ 1:16am
what about having the ping go instantly when releasing the button then having to click

Hi, this mod looks and sounds really great, so I'd prefer to use it over other ping-type mods, but the "only team members see pings" is a bit limiting. I play on a server with several friends and we use ULX's teams to easily identify each other on chat via use of colors - but that also means we can't see each others' binds.

Would it be a problem to add a toggle between "Only team members see pings" and "Everyone sees pings" in the Utilities menu? We'd really appreciate if it was possible.

No worries, I know such things take time. Thank you for responding and I wish you luck with it!

would it be hard to like. make the player do the "act forward" point when you ping something, so other players could see some movement? just kinda remembered that exists and could be a cool addition maybe

I dont know how hard this would be but it would be cool if instead of selecting what kind of marker you place, the quick ping would be context sensitive depending on what type of entity it landed on.
(NPC's, players, props, items, driveables, doors)

When you want to inform of your own position i think it should place a ping locked above your player model for others.

Suggestion for new ping: A countdown like in Portal 2.

For things that can't be context sensitive (like pinging yourself or starting a countdown) i feel like you could still use the menu.
I imagen that holding down the +walk key would make your character lower their weapon (like when looking at friendly NPC's in HL2) and instead open a ping wheel like in Deep Rock Galactic.

Sup, the mod is great, but it would be better if 1) you reduce the min time (like around 1-2 seconds), and make a limit for present pings (like 3 at default, but customizable), as its really easy for someone to spam them. 2) make it highlight its target, and identify it. For example, i ping a combine and it highlights it, saying "_ found an enemy", or i ping a swep, or a healthkit, it highlights the item and says in the chat "_ found some supplies". You can make it a different command, like "quickping_auto" and make it like "if [marking an enemy] highlight it, and the rest, else if [marking a pickup item or a healing item] highlight it, and the rest, else just a basic quickping_def
