A small pile of bug reports
Stumbled on a few bugs that I thought worthy of reporting. There doesn't appear to be a place to put bugs, so hopefully a dev sees them.

  • 20mm gatlings muzzle flash always fires no matter which cannon is currently firing.
Expected behavior: If one gun uses API and the other uses HEI, I should be able to fire one cannon and only have that cannon's gun emit a muzzle flash.
Actual behavior: Both cannons have muzzle flash when one cannon is firing. I haven't tested if the miniguns have the same issue. Now I figure this might be intentional since, why would you only fire one cannon? More dakka!! But I might switch from HEI to API to deal with armored targets, so I'll only fire one cannon at a time instead of having all HEI or all API.

  • Copilot is improperly labeled as "Gunner", I think
Expected behavior: The "Gunner" and "Copilot" should have different names for mission editing and Zeus purposes.
Actual behavior: The title "Gunner" is duplicated, and so you're left guessing which "Gunner" is the correct gunner who can actually control where the turrets point. Often times, the copilot ends up being the "gunner" which is obviously not correct.

  • Pylon mirroring doesn't work for all pylons in Zeus.
Expected behavior: Changing one of the minigun pylons while mirroring is toggled on should change all four minigun pylons.
Actual behavior: It only changes one pylon.

  • With Zeus or ACE, actual Gunner cannot be chosen after mission start.
Expected behavior: When using Zeus or ACE rearm to change your pylons, you should be able to set your pylons to the Gunner or Pilot.
Actual behavior: The "Gunner" chosen is actually the co-pilot, who has no physical control of the turrets. Commander and the real gunner are not options, despite being options in 3den.

  • GAU-4 20mm Pylons are named exactly the same despite having different loadouts
Expected behavior: The names of possible pylons should tell you what's in them. Like, "GAU-4 20mm (HEI 2000x), GAU-4 20mm (API 1500x), GAU-4 20mm (API 750x)" etc.
Actual behavior: You have to read the tool tip. This is fine most of the time, but if you're using scripts that change pylons by other means, and you can't read the tool tip, you're left guessing which is which, and that is annoying. "GAU-4 20mm, GAU-4 20mm, GAU-4 20mm, GAU-4 20mm, GAU-4 20mm"...

  • Actual Gunner is labeled "Commander" in 3den editor
Expected behavior: The names of the pylon control options should match the name of the seats.
Actual behavior: Gunner and Gunner (the duplicate entry) represent the copilot. Commander represents not the commander seat, but the actual gunner who controls the actual turrets. This is very confusing. Maybe just remove the commander seat and copilot seat as options?

While I'm here, some small feature suggestions.
  • All-tracer belts for the gatlings. PLEASE. It would be SO AWESOME. Performance issues be damned!
  • Mixed belts for the 20mm that shoot both API and HEI.
  • I know the minigun and the 20mm gatling guns aren't actually meant to be replaced with anything that aren't miniguns or 20mm gatlings... but it'd still be really swell if the model supported adding and removing those things visually by making the models separate! I have a use case already where I'm trying to remove the M134s to replace with GAU-19 .50 caliber guns. I have a proof of concept already, I just wish the M134 turrets would go away. This small detail might not be worth the effort, but something to think about!

If these bugs have already been fixed for an in-development version, please let us know so I can stop worrying about it lol

Thanks for this - as you guessed, nobody monitors steam much.

We take bug reports in the discord
https://discord.gg/E8rwG6D9

In the Need Help section there is a megathread called "Nickel-Steel-Bugs"
Please post there so we can see them, and our devs can feed back to you.

However reading through your list, almost none of it can be fixed by Team Savage. It is because we have already stretched the Arma 3 engine as far as it can go, and you're asking it to go farther than Bohemia envisaged. The pylon system was designed for Jets DLC and not for multi-turret vehicles like helicopters, or multiple gunpods. So you have to just live with it as is.
