Minor idea for the player-controlled Typhoeus Swarm

  • Increase the starting biomass from 200 to 3700
  • Decrease the biomass deposits on the first planet from 4000 to 500

Rationale:

The starting story text of the origin (START_SCREEN_PART_TYPHOEUS) implies that the Swarm became interstellar because the planet they were on is starting to run out of biomass. In-game, however, the first planet still has 18 years before it actually depletes (assuming no additional Biomass Harvesters were created), which means that there really isn't an effective reason the player should quickly expand other than game knowledge. There is an event after the first month that tells the player to expand, but the way the event presents it makes it seem like it's optional.

Decreasing the biomass deposits on the first planet will make it deplete faster, giving the player an intuitive reason to quickly expand. Because it depletes faster, the player will lose their biomass income faster. A red biomass income, I'd say, is a much more effective indicator for the player to expand rather than some text telling them that they should.

To compensate for the lower biomass deposit, the player's starting biomass should be increased so as to not affect their actual early-game survival.

Wow.Great ideas!Thank you~ο(=•ω<=)ρ⌒☆
can you make a trait/civic that allows hiveminds to covertly put armies on another empires planet via an espionage operation and when it's time to go to war they rise up and attack the planet? Like genestealers from warhammer 40k. And also allow other hiveminds the ability to get the parasite ap.
