Dragonbone mod
I think it's a really cool mod, but i am no fan of dragonscale. Wonder if it would be too much too ask, if there could be dragonbone mod. Write here to give your vote. Should there be dragonbone too? let the gamers choose!!

I like the efficient use of shading and colour to create 'new' armours. I'd like to see something similar to create ranked versions of other armour, such as Imperial or Elven.

Yes, but you forget that Dragonbone armor needs both the bones AND scales.

So coloured Dragonbone armor is possible, it just be around areas where scales are visible.

My thought was that different species of dragons should drop different types of scales, but not that every dragon drops different bones.
But I agree, I didn't thought that dragonbone is made of scales and bones and it would be great to see more colorful versions of this armor (especially if it was prettier than original). Butmaking scales visible demands changing meshes and creating new ones and it would take much more time, considering I'm a newbie in modding (this is my first mod, you can check my items in workshop) and in 3D graphics too.
It's a wonderful idea, but first I'll try to fix that problem with DLC's. (again, I'm very sorry)
Then all dragonscales would have their stats lower, remaining light and instead of 3 heavy dragonscales 6 new dragonplates would appear.
But it isn't definetly thing for next update.

Which the author might not be able to do since he would have to change the meshes on some parts of the armor so that scales are visible since Dragonplate armor requires both bones and scales of dragons to make.

Currently, it is beyond the current skill of the mod author.

Make colourful plate armor NOW ! :)

I'm slowly beginning to work on Dragonplate Redesign - And I'm going to make it compatible with Dragonscales Species. My idea is to make a likeable, protective armor the warrior could actually move in (after short analysis you can realise that some of plates of Dragonplates aren't really practical), made of both bones and scales. As you need 13 scales and only 6 bones to craft it should be considered in design. I've learnt a bit of 3D graphics in meanwhile, but as I'm modding alone it will take some time to make it (especially attaching skeleton of armor to body so the armor would be normally worn. and texture painting I think).
I already began to sculpt it over male model (female version will look very similar, as the armor is based on actual plate armors).
