Resuming work on port - FEEDBACK THREAD
Hey everyone!

It's been a while since I last worked on our beloved CS2 map, and I’ve missed the buzz and excitement of our community. Work had me swamped with projects, but now that some have wrapped up, I'm back and ready to dive in!

To add to the challenge, I switched to a Linux-only OS. If you’ve ever tried Googling how to get the CS2 Workshop running on Linux, you know what a wild ride it can be. It’s been a journey, but I’m thrilled to share that I’ve successfully decompiled the map, opened it in Hammer under Linux, and tested the GPU path tracing visualization. It works like a charm!

I’m super excited to get back on track and wanted to share this milestone with you all. I plan to start a discussion on the CS2 Workshop forum soon to go over the steps I took to make this work. Stay tuned, and thanks for all the support!

B site door in the back of site has a some sort of odd player clip fyi. Also trim in "mid" from t side is still dev textures. I can provide screenshots if my description is lacking.

Obviously youve already noted other things.

Nope thanks for pointing things out! There will be some geometry overhauls on main rooms to fix some of these clippings. I'll look at the dev textures and fix those up.

Back once again with the renegade master, power to the people...

Had a short little hiatus with family events, also got a raise and bonus at work so had some celebrating to do.

I wanted to let everyone know that the following fixes will be live before the weekend.

  • Fixed geometry matching nearly 1:1 with original map
  • All textures have now officially gone through a port from goldsrc -> source -> source2
  • Mini-map will be back on the radar
  • Entities have gone through the same port process as textures so more logic improvements to match original map.
  • No more dev textures.
  • I think that sums it all up but please post feedback in comments or this thread.
