So I was browsing workshop today..
And Seen a recreation of CS Mansion for CSGO. I was a bit confused on why this was on the front page of "Most popular this week"
CS mansion in beta 1.0 was flawed, Removed in 2.0, Brought back in 3.1 and then removed, Eventually being succeeded by Estate. But even with Mansion being the first cs map, Estate was flawed for this reason "Due to numerous camping spots, enclosed hallways and rooms, and dark areas, it is one of the less popular Hostage rescue maps."

But that's none of my business. The map just doesn't feel finished, It just feels old in all the
wrong ways.

What is actually wrong
1 I'm not sure if that's a 3D skybox or an old picture from CZ since I didn't bother to clip out and try to find it.
2 The map is fairly blocky, Even if the first one was, At least it could've been smoothed out.
3 The hedges are at a skewered height, In Goldsrc the units heights were shorter, I think around 5 feet tall (60 units) and in CS:S and CS:GO 72 units. If you want visibility the hedges need to be shorter, And if you want less visibility; they need to be taller. This is a problem because unlike in previous versions where the hedges were just a block with a texture, They're Foliage on top of a block as pictured here. screenshot 1

4 Lights without fixtures, Random props without purposes, Emptyness and a layout that is painful to navigate.

I might Remake in the future 1-2 years from now (Can't do it now, Leaving tomorrow for Army Active Duty.)
But for this current version; I wanted to give some feedback because I never saw anyone map out Mansion from scratch in GO.
As for Mansion and a lot of old maps, They can make a return in the future... We just gotta make an effort to modernize them and rebalance them.
