Yes I am, currently only Boompups (Artificer powers), are confirmed. However there is the potential for another variant to be added along with Boompups, what that variant is, is undecided though.
Spearpups (Spearmaster powers) aren't going to be added, the amount of AI changes required for them to function in a way that doesn't make them completely dependent on the player for survival is too much.
Boompups and the potential other variant are most likely going to be the final variants added.
Slugpup's growing up isn't the direction I want to go for Pups+, also it would be incredibly difficult to code.
It should increase the damage slightly, now how about you try stacking multiple Rotundpups?
It took about 3.5 months to make, from September 29th 2023 to January 12th 2024. It was originally supposed to be a mod that adds a few miscellaneous things to slugpups, thats why it's code name is "slugpupstuff".
The issue is Unshackled Co-op, the way it’s coded isn’t compatibility friendly. Same thing with Super Shotgun.
To be honest I haven't looked too deeply into problems with the AI, what I do want to fix currently is pathfinding issues such as slugpups hurtling themselves into death pits at any chance they get.
The slugpup wanting mechanic will allow slugpups to actually go and get things for themselves rather than relying on the player to grab it for them. The slugpups will also be able to communicate wanted items they cannot get. Ex. They'll point at a blue fruit they can't reach to indicate they want it, or they'll do little grabby hands if you are holding something they want.
I also wanna add some actual memory for wanted items. Slugpups might have a favorite pearl or if they are given a food they've eaten before and absolutely despised, they'll toss it away in disgust. It'll be based on the existing slugpup likes and dislikes.
I think it'll bring a new layer to slugpup parenthood that'll be interesting to play with.
Though I'll make it toggle-able in the remix menu in-case people want a more vanilla slupper experience.
Huh?
1. If I add this mid-save, will it make an already existing slugpup into one of the variants sometimes according to the percents, because i think i have a rotundpup
2. if I have a rotundpup, should I be getting exhausted while carrying him or is this a result of adding it midsave/incompatibility
