I know difference thanks. Issue i am rising that your new way to obtain extra cpu trough ship crew , you need to provide 4 items to one trader and get one member. So if you want have all 16 as much you are permitted you need to serve 16 of traders. In my case ( collected 16) all together worth 49500 CPU. With all respect they are worthless they didn't lower one single CPU on my ship. I made big mistake not to installing them as i obtaining them. and not to waste 6 hours RT of game. So i know its Beta and game is still under refurbishment/new build. Raised issue to let you know that how described does not work. I am just telling people not to do something in vain atm.

The crew don't lower CPU they add to the total amount allowed. So they do exactly what they are supposed to do in that regard. In addition, they also have other functions. Such as lower power usage, or help with shield recharge, or storage, or become ammo storage etc. so their primary role is not CPU, that is just an added bonus. But going back to your complaint, no they don't lower CPU usage, they add to the amount allowed.
