Inside the room, the target orb is usually shielded.

When the shield drops, the orb is now vulnerable and will show green when HP are full.

Even with player death, the damage will accumulate, giving you the chance to finish the protoinfector and get access to the biobox containing quantum processors and other legacy loot.

I've seen some YT channels where the player will do the jump-around and fire high powered projectiles or plasma into the orb. I did manage to attach two charges when the shield dropped and this was also successful.
