I also appreciate the additional POI.
glad to see you didn't ditch the reactor, one of the few i can do (mostly at least) before i get decent gear. hopefully you didn't change that...?
You need to shoot the shield until it comes down and then shoot the reactor until it explodes. If you have an "epic" energy weapon, use that. Otherwise, I imagine it will take a long time. It took me a bit to figure this out, too, so you're not alone. I figured once you used the demo charges in the reactor room, it'd be over, but it isn't.
Also want to add to the hope that the the abandoned reactor will stay around, too. I haven't found/run a refreshed one yet, but it is one of my favorite of the abandoned POIs.
Thanks mate, thought i had done something wrong when i shot the wires connecting the charge to the reactor, lol. It took me a while but i got it done in the end, can't wait to find another one as this was a lot of fun.
I actually thought the same thing at first! Because I had accidentally destroyed one of the wire bundles when killing the endless stream of abominations. I know Vermillion loves those wire bundles, and they do look cool, but their hitboxes kind of suck.
Really? Interesting! There was a hotfix done yesterday? I think? I wonder if this was changed in it. All I know is that in the two power plants I ran, the reactor didn't blow when I set the charges. I guess I'll see what happens the next time I run across one.
You really should read those things.
I did read them! The first time I ran the power plant, reading the screen outside of the "control room" was how I knew I hadn't found the second box of demo charges, so I had to go back up and find it. I don't remember them saying anything about having to shoot the shield after blowing the charges...but I AM 60+ and things don't stick in my brain as well as they used to. My long-term memory is fine, but short-term? Not so much. LOL I should probably get into the habit of copying what those screens say into Notepad, at least the first time I run a POI.
Anyway, thank you, Vermillion, for your work on these. They must take forever to build, with all the details you put in, but I, for one, very much appreciate your time and work on them. :)
(Also, I really like those new constant abomination spawners, even if they did make that bottom level quite hellish. :) )
Because when you get to legacy space, they will be everywhere inside Legacy POIs.
Yep, I destroyed them, and thank you for the heads-up! :) To date, I have never been to Legacy space. (Yeah, yeah, 1600+ hours and just haven't gotten there yet. LOL) One day I will get there, assuming that I ever improve at combat and have a ship capable of handling it. I died like 25 times in that assembly yard (while wearing advanced heavy armor and wielding some very strong weapons, mind you), so I don't know that I'll ever be able to handle a Legacy POI. :) I'm assuming they're harder than Sector Commands, and I haven't gotten brave enough to tackle a Drone Base, let alone a Sector Command...
I think mine maybe bugged, trying to figure out where to place the charges. The pad on the ground makes reference to the stairwell and the charges say can only be placed in marked locations
