how do Lift blocks work?
Hi, I am a nood in Empyrion signals and I was wondering how I could set up an elevator using the lift blocks. been messing with the signla logic for 30' and could not understand anything some photos or a avid would help. thank you

If you look on the parent block for lifts they give a hint what circuit to use.

I think it's an XOR circuit, but double check the tooltip. Simply place 2 switches (the buttons from one of the project eden deco groups works great for this). Tie them both into a XOR circuit. Set the lift to follow the circuit (again, check the tooltip to make sure I am telling you the right thing).

Now using either switch will cause the lift to toggle its state. Put one switch up top and the other at the bottom and when you flip either switch into either position the lift will rise or lower.

Standard 3-way switches used in hallways and such. Good, except when you flip one switch then the other one works upside down... 8-)

raven_ff, does that mean that the lift blocks are working. I had not tried them yet because it was marked Experimental.

And yes, I think it would be an XOR circuit. (Since we don't actually have any 3 pole switches.)

That's actually why I added the button block, specifically to be used with the elevators lol.
And yes they are working. They always worked, but as most things in RE2 are still an experimental feature. RE2 itself is "experimental" in the sense that we take duct tape, bubblegum, and prayers and throw away the duct tape and bubblegum and try to make cool things happen on prayer alone.
Thank you all!! I was doing multiple mistakes. #1 was not realizing that you have to actualy name the switches/buttons. #2 was using multiple lift blocks, not realzing that they Extend downward

Um... What does "extend downward" mean? Or maybe I should wait until I get back to RE2, and try it out... 8-)

By the way, thanks ravien_ff for your work. I had not had any problems in RE2, so I forgot the whole thing is still experimental.

Edit: fixed ravien_ff's name spelling, I just realized I have been misspelling it for like a year or two. 8-}

Actual lifts that can move up and down.
