Suggestion: fuel factories
Mining promethium or stealing it from Zirax is fine, but how about making an alternative fuel source, that requires some (advanced) infrastructure and costs lot of energy, but may be produced from just energy and water? For example, a base with HUGE field of solar panels, hydrogen collectors that transfer hydrogen right into storage controller, and crafting recipes (with long crafting cycle so setting up multiple assemblers is a good (and energy-hungry) idea):
Hydrogen ---> Deuterium
Hydrogen ---> Tritium
Hydrogen + Tritium ---> D-T fuel

I like the idea, but I wonder if it's possible in the game. I hope so!

That's awesome!
It seems there are many things I still haven't tested yet.
They don't run on deuterium + tritium yet, is that correct?

Correct. There's no way to make a generator that runs only on a certain type of fuel as there's just "fuel". That's a suggestion for Eleon.

Some higher tech fuel tanks would be cool though. Just finished working on a few new builds and was thinking to myself, "man I wish I had some larger fuel tanks to work with." Especially on SV/HV's since they don't have any of that fancy fuel efficiency stuff.

But idea wasn't about making some specific fuel - it was about making fuel from infinite resource like water and HUUUGE amounts of energy from any source. In a balanced way of course. Like really huge base with lot of solar panels / wind turbines / geothermal generators, and maybe requiring specific planet type.

That's also not really possible to do, even with all the duct tape and bubble gum. :D Suggest it to Eleon on their official channels if you want to see something like that added to the game.
