❓ FAQ

❔ Why do they cost less than the ransom interaction?
  • Unless you have other mods that interact with the imprisonment mechanic, the AI lacks a genuine incentive to accept prisoners, aside from being at war. Consequently, they wouldn't really benefit from its use; they would promptly ransom prisoners as soon as they can.
  • For balance reasons, this mechanic is waaaaay too powerful if left unchecked. It will still reward you, though, if you interact with the right ruler, that is.

    * After much consideration, this value was buffed in Patch 1.5.0- In retrospect, this change should have been initially implemented this way, previously, it only deterred anyone from buying prisoners except during war.

❔ How did you come up with these values?
  • These balance values strictly are derived from existing numbers related to hostile, vassal, and hostage interactions.
  • Notes are provided above each modifier within the code, indicating the source of the values. However, if there are no such notes, it is solely a decision made by me.

❔ Isn't there a mod already similar to this one?
  • Yes, however, it lacks some features that I desire or that I plan to implement in some foreseeable future. Since everything is rewritten from scratch, this mod is also highly customizable should you ever wish to add, modify, or maintain it yourself.

❔ This mod doesn't work with 'x' mod-
  • If you encounter any mod incompatibility, it might be due to this mod sharing the same namespace with another mod. Please inform me if you come across such an issue.
