Yes, multiple weapons in the nose is intentional. Many planes in WWII had multiple weapons in the nose: Me 210, P-38, B-25, etc.
I have thought about wing design. In fact, I did extensive research on it, including all the different airfoils each country used and their benefits. I read several university studies on the matter. The overwhelming conclusion was that wing design and airfoil design did matter somewhat but only in a broad way and not enough to affect anything on the scale of HoI4. However, some of my findings were interesting enough to include in National Focus trees or MIO's where the differences in design choices can more intriguingly be handled.
