You can enable this mod at any moment, it should not have any save file problems as it does not save anything significant.

As for compatibility, I don't know any specifics. But there might be problems with mods that do the same kind of thing. E.g. Changing the movement or speed of zombies. As the mods might overwrite each other or double the effect.
