Question regarding save files.
Alright, so I started playing Shadowrun unlimited back on Shadowrun Returns.
Now since the newer versions of Unlimited need Dragonfall to run, how exactly can I transfer my savefile from Shadowrun Unlimited(Returns version) to Shadowrun Unlimited (Director's Cut version)?
Do I really need to start over after all the grinding in Unlimited(returns) in order to play Unlimited in the DC?

Yes, there is a way to transfer your save files from SrU on DMS to SrU on DFE see the unpinned discussion topic back on page 3.

Porting over a character from the core version to the Director's Cut
thanks to james.fe80 for the detailed description on how to succesfull port over your saved characters:

on 64bit windows the save files are under "c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\${UID}\${GAME}\game\remote\saves" where ${UID} is replace by your magic number and ${GAME} is 300550 for DFDC or 234650 for SRR DMS.
on 32 bit windows drop the " (x86)" from the path and mangle as necessary.

so basically you follow the path to find the save games for the core version (that's the 234650 DMS one) and copy and paste them into the Director's cut version (300550)... restart steam and reload the DC and bingo, youre good to go! (tho it seems i had to reboot my pc to get the cloud to catch up )

and for all the people gaming on a mac:

the folders are :

SRR DMS: ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/userdata/${UID}/234650/remote/saves
DFDC: ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/userdata/${UID}/300550/remote/saves
