thought I was going mad but no, universe gates are group U@# and universe_hd is group U@, means enhanced and regular universe gates need nine chevrons to dial each other and a lot more power
interestingly also means you can set the 'universe' gate to milky way, pegasus, et cetera, and have it interface with those gates locally instead
oh also on that vein, found that HD orlin gates are private, but do have addresses, and can be dialled, with cap code throwing a 'null physics object' error but otherwise functioning perfectly, tbf this is something I wish the base addon let you do

making actual universe gates are somewhat not possible since they wont allow any custom ones besides all others. i forgot to mention that since nobody really knows how to make it. and i have experimented with the orlin gate years ago and made one dialable and stable. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1351800566
