Automated Inventory Sorting

Sorting does not want to work with merged ships
I actually have two problems that I can't seem to figure out.

Problem 1.

So I have a freighter with two industrial ships docked and merged to it, both industrial ships have cargo containers with [Ore:P9] in their name and the refineries have [Ore:P8].

The ore that is already on the industrial ship is pulling just fine between the cargo bays and refineries.

When a miner docks to the freighter to unload the cargo containers the industrial ships do nothing, I have to unmerge my industrial ships for it to pull the ores.

Problem 2.

My welding ship has two large cargo containers on it and they are both set to [Component:P1:100] this is to pull from the freighter, it pulls most components but it seems like it pulls a 100 form each container that has that specific component in.

So if I have 5 containers with [SteelPlate] it will pull 500 steel plate to my welding ship and so on.

Here is a screen shot and the log of my inventory on the welding ship

You need to paste the complete inventory log, as you're only showing the queuing and not the actual transferring.

Also, can you clarify the first point? You say docked and merged, which are two different things (merge blocks and connectors). Can you be specific in which parts are connected, and how they are connected?

And lastly, are you playing single player, multiplayer or on a dedicated server?

Sorry about that obviously didn't see it was only queuing there, here is the complete log, to big too load into paste bin so here is a dropbox link.

Starts at about 18:31:21 the ships name is Utility 4

This is the setup we are running, the freighter in the middle and two industrial ships on the sides

This is how the industrial ships are connected to the freighter(two connectors and two merge blocks)

This is a dedicated server.

It's what I was afraid of. I was hoping they fixed the sync issue on dedicated servers, but they have not. What is happening is, the client is moving cargo from A -> B. After the move, B is not registering as having cargo, even though it clearly does. So it thinks it has 0, and transfers more cargo from other places. I think I may have a solution for this issue which involves tracking what is transferred internally instead of relying on internal data, which apparently is outdated in a dedicated server environment when a transfer occurs.

Makes sense, what about the merge block issue?

Multigrid issues are harder to track down, especially with strange configurations. It might actually have something to do with multiple connectors, as I've never tested a situation that connected twice to the same station. Can you try removing one and see what happens?

I noticed a few things today while messing around with those ships but I will give it a few test scenarios and relay the results back to you sometime today.
