problem with sorting into assemblers for disassembly
okay. so far I've used this mod a ton, because it's just so damn usefull to be able to sort things manually, and I use it for a lot of complex sorting.
one problem I ran into is that when I have several assemblers set with [component:p1:split,construction:ignore,motor:ignore] (so they are dissassembling everything except construction components and motors), and it'll pull the ~x amounts instead of the x amounts. (say ~350 steel plates). this is a big problem when the disassembler keeps going, as it'll eventually hit ~0 (instead of 0 and vanish). this clogs my assemblers with items they cannot disassemble (since they get confused about ~0 being 0)
I can even pull out the ~0 steel plates. and combine it with other ~0 steel plates. and eventually I get ~1 steel plate.

it's been a while since your post... did you get your answer? I don't quite get what you meant by ~x tho...

nope. no answer. and I meant x as a generic number. like.. it'll say ~1k steel plates. it'll never go back to '900 steel plates when they disassemble' it'll keep going to '~ 900 steel plates'. I think it's to do with the fact that eventually space engineers simplfies the number (hence why you get the ~ in front of them) and this mod pulls the ~ along with the items it takes (instead of removing it as it should).
I have not tested this in quite a while though.

hmm.. this doesn't seems to happend on my end (at least if I do understand properly what you're describing...)
If I get a large number of anything in the game, the number is displayed properly until it exceed the space reserved for display... then it just get truncated (ex.: 15555 will be displayed as 155.. or something like that... so no ~)

as I said. it has been a while since I tested this, or played the game. I'll try again soon.

It's a bug that sometimes occurs because the game seems to "split" one single item from a stack, so instead of 9000 steel plates you get ~9000 steel plates because that's the number it's closest to.
