How to make AES races playable!
IYou can make your own patch in FCS in about 30 secs to make them playable.

1. Find the mod in your Steam mod directory, not Kenshi mod folder. It should be something like ----- C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\233860\3224267935
The AES folder is (3224267935)

2. Copy that folder. Put it in the 'mod' folder in the Kenshi main folder (the one with the .exe in it). Rename the AES folder from the string of numbers to "Ancient Empire Samurai"

3. Open FCS. Ancient Empire Samurai should now be listed in the FCS mod listing.

4. Select that AES entry (make sure it's checked off) then select "Create new mod". Name it whatever, like "AES Playable". Make sure original AES is selected AND your new mod. Make sure your mod says "ACTIVE".

5. Go to Races. There's two races in this mod; Androids and Super Soldiers. You can translate all of the simplified Chinese via Google Translate in several seconds. Rename their races in English, if that's your main spoken language, ex: Mine are listed as "AES - Android" and "AES - Super Soldier". Under either respective race, look on the left hand side where it says "Playable". Select "True" for both (make sure you set "Can be carried" to True for both as well).

6. That's it. I ONLY use AES races for my games now lol. I switched half of Rebirth to end game level AES monsters. They're great.

7. You can also change how your AES characters look, both male and female, by going back into FCS, load both mods + whatever hair/face/beard mods (still keeping YOUR personal mod set to ACTIVE). Add all male and female hairs and heads you want. Some won't work, but it's not game crashing, and certainly not game ending. And have fun!

@DragonVolition - Please remake this mod for Kenshi 2 whenever it comes out, either this decade or the next, it's amazing.

Reminder: Super Soldier Race makes the Titan Corp permanently hostile to you if seen.

You have been warned.
I've long since given up on dialogue and disguise working, so I placed the super soldiers and androids all throughout the game, especially in Rebirth. If I go to the Titan Factory, it's for the sole purpose of a hostile takeover lol. A squad of 10-15 leveled up super soldiers and/or androids in mechanical vanguard armor is usually more than enough to topple the factory if you keep baiting them outside of the main gate and behind cover from the Titan Rangers. And then everyone down becomes another new team member sieging the factory.

Has anyone ever been able to make it to the ancient citadel on top of mountain to the northwest of the Titan Factory? Idk if it's a mod conflict, but the staircase that goes down from the citadel terminates into a mountain that overlaps it. I used the "Teleport bed" mod to place a portable bed at the base of the stairs. There's literally nothing worth seeing in there. Never understood why it was there.
I totally forgot to mention this!!! You will need the mod "Recruit ANYONE" As well, and you'll need to make a patch for that, which is also super easy and takes maybe 5 mins.

To do so---

1. Make another new mod. First you're going to select AES and Recruit ANYONE in FCS (because you've now put a copy of the Recruit Anyone mod in your .exe location mod folder along with the copy of Ancient Empire Smaurai. Make sure the folder name matches the .MOD file name EXACTLY. I always just Copy + Paste the .MOD name on to the folder.

2. Select AES and Recruit Anyone, and select "Create new mod". Name it something like "AES RA patch". Make sure your new patch is set to ACTIVE.

3. Under ALL of the characters from the mod, add the "Recruit Anyone" dialogue package to each character (unless you don't want to recruit specific named characters). The dialogue package selection is in the top right

4. Then your mod load order should look like---

*Ancient Empire Samurai

*AES English Translation (if English is your spoken language).

*Recruit ANYONE

*AES RA Patch

And you should be good to go. Hope this helps.
