In the main menu, Instead of clicking "Continue", click "Load", then bottom right click "More", then "Chose mods" and activate the mod. Use the same procedure to remove the mod.

Do note that once a video store has been "loaded" by the game, the content of the shelves will be populated by the default videos so you have to find an unvisited VHS store to find the new videos.
