Taipan Hussar
Taipan Hussar

Taipans are part of the Requiem Legion, but not this one, this one fights for freedom, loss of the control chip also means no Requiem Magna Reactions.
Taipans can use many, many weapons, but i went with smg + sword for shinobi-like unit.
Arsenal:
  • Taipan can use sidewinders scramgun, or her own unique submachinegun (Which is what Pathfinders use), this is a flanking, short range weapon that provides strafing fire, its also uber silent due to the giant silencer. It has big damage range, but hits as a truck with critical hits
  • Secondary weapon of the Taipan is a sword, Taipan lacks Flechee but can dash melee
Special abilities
  • Taipan does not have flechee, but she has Bloodlust bound to her sword (Yes, the perk Katana has), meaning if you let her spill blood, her damage will start growing to the point where she will out damage actual flechee classes.
  • Taipan is immune to poison
Starting abilities
  • Phantom
  • Strafing Fire
  • Blood of The Weak (Sword attack that only targets civilians, use it to build bloodlust).
Strenghts
  • Bloodlust, innate blademaster
  • Strafing Fire lets her flank aggresively as you can always run back to cover
  • Can be trained for stealth-spotter role
  • Early access to Shadowstep
  • Taipans SMG has minor armor penetration
Weaknesses
  • Requires build up of damage, flechee classes will do more without the need to rew-up
  • Primary weapon is a flanker weapon, not as great against heavily armoured, unflankable units
  • Worse detection radius than humans
  • Cannot bind and cannot spit

This section bellow is useful for anyone trying to play with the new aliens and is not sure how they should go at it, so this is more...meta game-ish, if you want to figure it out yourself, skip the text bellow

Gameplay - Taipan Hussar
Intended gameplay role - melee/flanker/spotter

  • TLDR how Strafe works - any movement gives you a special action point you can use to shoot a special non standard shot attack. In gameplay terms, blue move -> shoot -> melee -> proc whirlwind and retreat -> gain another strafe and shoot again.
  • While Hussar lacks flechee, her innate bloodlust will let you get quite nasty attacks if you do let her build bloodthirst stacks, here are some tips
  • 1) During Lost missions, if you pick Bladestorm, she can build it off the Lost
  • 2) During GOPs, leave drones and such easy kills for the Taipan, it will also build up bloodthirst
  • 3) Dont forget to upgrade your swords, it has all 5 tiers
  • 4) Almost all sword attacks build bloodthirst
  • Taipan is innately immune to poison, but not elerium poison (bio faceless)
  • Strafe and Strafing fire lets you combine ranged and melee combat, any movement gives you a charge to shoot.
  • Pick Reconiteur to scout in city enviroments or to counter enemies like Seekers
  • Mass murder civilians to build up bloodlust damage, but watch out for the will penalty for killing civilians.
