Winter Sentinel (Heroic Alien) (TO BE REWRITTEN)
Winter Sentinel
This Frost Cobra is a pseudo heroic unit, with advanced training with a special bolt caster, this unit is a ruthless hunter, he also throws grenades as if they were pebbles because he has Total Combat


Arsenal:
  • Bolt Caster (He has its own unique one)
  • Frost Adder Tail (shares with Adders)
Special abilities
  • Immune to Frost
  • Immune to Poison (Due to closed armor)
  • Immune to Knockback
  • Can see further than enemies (meaning he can see them, but they wont see him !)
Starting abilities
  • Rush and Bind
  • Total Combat
  • Concentration
  • Will to survive
  • Battlespace
Strenghts
  • Can be trained to be extremely durable
  • Bolt Caster cannot graze and hits quite hard
  • Can be trained as Grenadier that can make explosives on the field
  • Unlike Mamba or Adder, immune to poison
  • Battlespace extends his sight, so he can fire at enemies that cannot see him, he can also further extend this range once a mission, giving him snapshot-range weapon reach
  • Rush and bind lets him lockdown problematic, high HP humanoids
Weaknesses
  • Sentinels Bolt Caster lacks Lock and Load
  • Heroic alien
  • Requiem Legion and DOTs, his tank-capabilities are bound around armor, so shredding and armor ignoring attacks are a threat
  • No tongue abilities

This section bellow is useful for anyone trying to play with the new aliens and is not sure how they should go at it, so this is more...meta game-ish, if you want to figure it out yourself, skip the text bellow

Gameplay - Winter Sentinel
Intended gameplay role - slayer/grenadier/control class
  • Winter Sentinel sees further than any Advent unit, letting you attack them first as if you were in pseudo concealment, use this to open up on pods even while squads concealment is gone already
  • Winter Sentinel can rush and bind and deals catastrophic damage due to his immense size and he can even do it against Custodians (Frost Adder cannot do that), use his rush and bind to take out humanoids you cant hard CC in some way.
  • Winter Sentinel can spit frost, use if to add bitterfrost stacks to kick Glacial Armor in to action, his bolt caster also adds a chill stack, so if you have any other frost unit in vicinity, you can reach total freeze
  • Sentinels bolt caster has concentration, but lacks Lock and Load the XCOM version has, use grenades (he has Total Combat) to contribute to your team even while your main gun is on a downtime
  • Berserker Genes causes WS to lash out if he gets panicked, or 20% chance if he gets injured, he would go berserk and start attacking Advent with a weird action economy (Berserking unit units dont play by normal rules)
  • Sentinels Vigilance gives you Lead The Target and Stay on Target, giving you no-cooldown LTT, this needs 2 AP, but effectively gives you a guaranteed hit that can pull enemy pod on their turn to combat.
  • Indomitable perk makes WS potentially the most durable unit in the game if you stack armor like maniac, but be aware of armor piercing attacks or stuff that shreds armor.
  • Bolt Caster does take ammo unlike other frost weapons like on Frost Adders, so uh dont give him something that gives -1 ammo size
  • Bolt Caster cannot take weapon mods, but it does have bonus stats to compensate
