Floater
Floater
The meaning of "even in death, i still serve" is an apt description of the Floater, dead alien resurrected by cybernetics, Floater is an exceptional soldier under XCOMs guidance.
Floaters share armor with Archons, but they have their own weapon.

Floater does not have Magna reactions, but has no weakness.

Floater has innate 30 defence and cannot take cover, but he is unflankable too.
Arsenal
  • Carbine, this assault rifle primary weapon is identical to XCOMs assault rifles
  • Jetpack
Special Abilities
  • Unflankable by default
  • Flight (Unit flies in the air and recieves high ground bonuses, airborne units cannot be attacked in melee or explosives, costs 1 AP)
  • Jet Jump (Pretty much teleport, Floater flies through the air at your location of choice, bypasses reaction fire and only costs 1 AP)
  • Full vertical mobility, doesnt need ladders to climb
Starting Abilities
  • Hard Target
  • Sapper and Bombardier
  • Spray (1 AP standard shot with 20 aim penalty, effectively gives weaker Marauder like ability)
Strenghts
  • The best mobility in the entire game
  • When airborne, completely immune to melee only enemies and all enemies that use explosives
  • Superb flanking as Floater can just teleport behind someone and shoot them in the face
  • Superb at fetching rebels during retals
  • Becomes very hard to hit while in the air
  • Best duelist against the Assassin as she will have to resort to using a shotgun to take out the Floater
Weaknesses
  • No immunities to anything, immunity to melee and explosives is bound to being in the air
  • Vulnerable to psionics or attacks that are guaranteed to hit.
  • Lowest durability out of all unflankable aliens, lacks the raw HP of Archons and Berserkers and regeneration of Faceless, or the bulky armor of Warmaster.
  • Mediocre damage and accuracy, weak against unflankable units
  • Becoming airborne will pretty much pull all pods in the area to combat, so think twice if flying in the air is actually a smart idea
  • Air mobility skills have cooldowns and cannot be used constantly, this creates downtime where Floater is on the ground where he is most vulnerable.
  • Enemy flying units neutralize the bonuses of being airborne, beware other Floaters as they will have much easier time hitting your Floater
