thanks again for the awesome mod!

In my endeavours to change the appearance of my character mid-campaign, without the need to make a new character, I figured something out which might be helpful for fellow players. Feel free to implement the information in your description if you like. No credits needed.

Changing Your Character Appearance Mid-Campaign

This information applies for multiplayer campaigns:

1. Host a server and create a new game with the character design of your choice.

2. Then go to

(you can copy & paste that line into your Windows Explorer's address bar for quick access)

3. There you find yournamedsavegame_CharacterData.xml

4. Find the lines of your character using Windows Notepad and look for something looking like this


5. Now all you need to do is to copy the values for hair, beard, etc. from the new yournamedsavegame_CharacterData.xml to the filewhereyouwantedtochange_CharacterData.xml with the new character design.

Tip: do not forget to make use of CTRL+F for quick search in notepad to find the character whose appearance you wish to change.

And that is how you can use this mod on an existing campaign without the need to make a new character!


For singleplayer it is very similar with one difference:

1. Upload your singleplayer savegame to https://ignis05.github.io/baro-save-editor/

1b. You can find your singleplayer savegame here

(you can copy & paste that line into your Windows Explorer's address bar for quick access)

2. Figure out, as described above for multiplayer, what character design you wish to have, then edit the current crew information in the web savegame editor as you would with Windows Notepad.

3. When you are done, make sure to download the edited savegame from the webeditor and overwrite your local savegame.

And that was it. Changing appearance midcampaign without the need to make a new character.
