Little problems, big issues.
I have few problems about this class. Firstly I have never triggered chain lightining, cold beam, boulder etc. from the passive melee sustain (sorry forgot the name of the talent) even though i have had around 60% chance of triggering it on melee. I now I'm not that unlucky.

Secondly does the water stances healing on melee attack actually work because it does not show in the message log that it does line in example blood grasps healing does. I'm not sure does it heal or not, but I'm sure it does not imply in any way that it did.

Nevertheless, this is one of my favorite classes so far.

Hi Ilzmur,

First off, thanks for the feedback.

So lets see if we can debug the problems you are having.

When water stance is active and you succesfully hit something in melee you should see a small yellow number indicating healing rise up graphically, as well as a statement in your log saying something like:
"Character Name receives 1 healing from Water Stance"

If its not, and the stance is in fact active (you see a little blue icon in your sustain list called Water Stance), then there has to be some kind of problem with other addons or some kind of version mismatch. You are using the Water Strike ability to activate the stance, correct? You shouldn't be able to activate it any other way.

Spellsword Combat, the melee sustain passive, won't do anything if you don't have Air Stance, Earth Stance, Fire Stance or Water Stance up and sustained. So potentially a similar problem to the above. If you're killing a target everytime with just the melee damage, it also won't trigger, as it checks to see if the target is still alive when it gets to the step where it casts the on-hit spell. However, this seems unlikely for new characters.

Assuming that is not the issue, then I'll need to know if you're running any other addons, and which ones if so. This is so I can look for strange interactions in the code that might prevent various on-hit effects from occuring. I'm currently assuming you are running the latest version of tome (1.2.4) and the Spellsword addon.

Yes, i have other addons running. Arcanum, dreadknight, magebow, spellsword and some others, also version (1.2.4). I have tried out all stances and I have always had one of them on and the spellsword combat, unless deactivated by enemy and around 3/4 the time I don' kill the enemy at all, needless to say just the meelee damage output. So not having them on is not the case.

What comes to the water stances healing, it seems that it does work but there just isn't any visual or graphical sign of it triggering. Still even if it works now asume, I still would like it to being shown in the game in some way to actualy see et working. I know it is a little thing, but it matters.

Hi,

I just downloaded and tried Arcanum, Dread Knight class, and Magebow addons in combination with spellsword. I am seeing Spellsword combat activations occassionally on hit, so those don't seem to be interacting badly.

Can you give me a full list of addons you are using?

Similarly, I am seeing the yellow healing numbers above my character's head on hit with water stance up. Thats the usual indicator I use to note that you are getting healed by Water Stance (along with the log entries).

Are you seeing the normal green numbers flying above enemy icons when dealing damage, as well as red numbers from damage above your character?

Or are you asking for an additional graphic to occur every time you melee attack while in water stance, similar to the red splotch that appears on enemies when attacking them in melee?

Also I have stoic class, Midnight addon, fallen race, Steamui (not sure why it would cause problems) and The Ashes of mar'urkh dlc. I'm wondering does fidling around options disable some of these effects visualy, because I did change some of them a month ago because the game wasn't running smoothly.

What is occuring to you is just fine (yeallow or green numbers as well as log entries) I yet haven't seen any of those niether Spellsword combat activation..

If I find a way to fix this myself, I'll anounce it. Goes option fidling ---->

Hi,

The stoic class addon doesn't seem to work properly combined with the Spellsword addon. Having both addons active at the same time seems to prevent the spellsword on hit effects (big AoEs as well as on hit healing from water stance).

Try disabling the stoic addon and starting a new Spellsword character and see if that works for you.

Thank you, everything works now after I got rid of the stoic addon. Luckily I did'nt even like that one so it wasn't a biggie to exile it to the fearscape :d
