As for the other thing, do you mean the bandit captains and knights? Or the NPC Lords of the different nations? The bandit leaders are roughly comparable with the various top-teir units in the game. They probably won't change a whole lot moving forward other than some minor adjustments if necessary. I've watched them slaughter a dozen fresh recruits, but they shouldn't be doing that anymore after the first few encounters in the game.
The NPC Lords though, some of them have a pretty solid backbone, and I'm defiantly keeping an eye on how they perform. The tougher ones are more than capable of taking out a few Swadian Knights if left to their own devices. Though I think my biggest concern with them at the moment is whether or not their tactics skill is too high.
But thanks for the heads up, something to keep my eye on. ;)
Either way any more merges aren't going to happen until the mod is out of a beta stage, I don't want to be carrying 5 different versions through the beta process as that would be a lot of work. Still that probably isn't too much longer, as I've pretty much worked the idea to completion, and after this next release I'll mostly be cleaning up loose ends I think.
the game is already balls hard on the easiest setting
I like the mod otherwise but that just drives me nuts
is there an easy way for me to undo that?
Swadian Sergeant (both genders) tree is listing as mounted but the item list does not appear to include a horse - not sure which direction you intended there.
Expert Swadian Knight seems to be listed as lvl 65 (possibility I screwed that up) while Legendary is lvl 52 (and you have to go through Elite first).
Offensive stat growth as you go from Tier 5 to Tier 6 to Tier 7 does not seem to grow at the pace it did for the earlier levels. In general, you're pushing an increase of 10 points as opposed to earlier levels which were more like 20-30 (SS tree is now 40/70/85/100/140/150/160)
Elite Sword Sisters at 42/160 flat seems odd. Sword Sisters, at 22/140 flat, were versatile jack of all trades with offensive stats better than the competition (only the Huscarls really had them beat) but paid for it in being weaker - 6 levels below the Knight. Both they and Swadian Knights grew by 20 points but by being the same level as the Knights, they're comparatively stronger and possibly OP. Which I like - SS are my favorite unit by far even though they died fast - but still seems wrong. On the other hand, they don't have a Tier 8 so....
One of the NPCs - one of the sisters but can't remember which - complained when I sacrificed some units (might be the retreat choice, not sure) and the text was missing
I'm running a boatload of tier 7s already and none of the Lords are running above Tier 5 yet. I'll have to see when I get to the late game but the NPCs might need some help in the XP accumulation department.
The Nord women are bugging me. I know the idea is glass cannon but they still seem too strong with Tier 6 running 200 flat stats - especially considering the anemic stat growth of other branches and that there's still plenty of other units that are lower level at the same tiers.
I wish I could add this to my current save game!
I wanted to ask, have you completely removed the chance of getting male recruits, or is it just that the chances of getting females is signifigantly higher than the chances of getting males? If so, this is quite unusual given the age this game is based in. I was wondering if you'd be willing to lower the chances of getting female recruits, because at this moment my army consists of 74 females and 5 males (which are hired blades, merchant guards and farmers).
I hope you consider my feedback, since it makes the game rather unrealistic. I do like the idea of female warriors though, I just don't want an entire army of them. Thanks!
