Found something interesting.
A half way down, i found a big ol tunnel type thing. Full of rubbish, too.

yes, in the other discussion the creator said that during the beta of the map, there was a easter egg, but now is no longer a thing, just unused content

that was the fuses, the tunnels themselves arent unused; they are simply: the pit-stops
