2. Cars need trunk size rebalanced, same for gloveboxes.
3. Cars need to rebalance gear shifting and suspension stiffness.
4. Engine power?
4. Maybe El Cameo should be transferred to the Heavy-Duty car class? So that it looks more like in vanilla. (Like Chevalier D6 and Dash Bulldriver)
5. There is a problem with displaying car names in a non-English language game client. Translation files must be in ANSI coding.
6. Benson Nighthawk does not have its own style in the auto mechanics window.
7. Try to use car sounds from Franklin All-Terrain or another heavies for some cars in your project maybe it is a good idea ;)
(Maybe more sh1t cars in future? If you need help, i will be glad to help ya!)
The thing with El Cameo is that it is a car-based pick up truck. Making it heavy duty just wouldn't make sense, considering it looks a lot like the base game Nyala. You can google an 1981 Chevy El Camino and compare it to the same year Malibu to see what I'm talking about.
And yeah I will add new cars eventually.I am not exactly the most productive person, so it might take a bit, but hopefully I'll come out with a bunch of new cars later this month.
anyway something I've been thinking of is what if there were vanilla themed cars that weren't lore friendly, like from 1994-2000
it would be cool as hell to go full speed in a 1998 "Dash Rodger" while listening to some dumb cassette from True Music while inevitably crashing into a tree because you forgot you picked speed demon and weren't paying attention to the road.
pay no attention to the vehicle name, I'm awful at naming fictional cars
just a thought, love the mod, keep it up!
Glad to see it brought to life on Zomboid. I'll be trying this mod asap. Thank you for sharing.
I get it though if you don't want to do it, since KI5 already made one, although it's not in vanilla art style.
Cheers!
Some ideas/requests:
Dash DJ5 - the Jeep CJ to the Dash Rancher's Jeep Wrangler; an older, more spartan, round headlight version of the jeep, sometimes found in trailer parks and farm spawns. Maybe a right hand drive version in mail livery with the same spawns as mail trucks, similar to the post office jeeps they were phasing out in the 80s and 90s.
Chevalier M80 CUV - Essentially just a modified Chevalier D6 pickup, but militarized and a crew cab, styled after the real life Chevy/Dodge versions of the military CUCV for military spawns. Olive Drab or Desert colors, blacked out wheels, spawns in military zones. would be sought after for being a 4 seater but having the same truck storage as a pickup truck.
Masterson Apollo - 80s-90s minivan, showing up mostly in driveways or school zones. Same seating as the 6 seater franklin van, but not as slow (and not as common).
Chevalier Sierra Madre - A more "modernized" upmarket version of the D6 pickup. Same general shape/chassis of the D6, but with more 90s styling -- side steps, running lights above the front and rear windshield, grill and headlights similar to the franklin suv/explorer, and 90's style decals on the sides (like the decals on the Valuline Camper mod, or the yellow stripe on all the jeeps in the vanilla game). showing up in more rural/farm spawns
piggybacking off the patrol version of the Caprice, I don't think its possible currently, but in b42 you might be able to set spawns for specific cities; might be a fun idea to have a more modern police car spawn in Louisville while the more rural starting towns get the classic police car
Maybe someday. I'm, to be honest, personally not too keen on military/special cars like that. I'm more into the stuff your regular-joe-9-to-5-in-walmart would drive, but I guess I could take a shot at it.
Geo metros are very ♥♥♥♥. I like them. Might put one in after some of the other stuff I've planned.
I'll get around to it.
Not sure if I like that to be fair. I'm trying to keep it as lore friendly as possible. Although I could do something like that if I start running out of reasonable ♥♥♥♥ to model.
I'll be doing more of that stuff for sure.
Eh, fair enough, well if or when you do eventually run out of ideas for cars to model, you can pack those in a sub-mod for peeps who wanna keep the regular '93-era cars.
Best of luck too ya mate! This mod keeps getting better and better.
