In the future, potentially. As of currently, all of the available Hireling types are based on basegame origins, but I might add more in the future.

if more do end up getting added I'd really like to see vampire hirelings.. Maybe even bruisers as well

entirely non-serious but MAG hirelings would be silly as well even though they're entirely a detriment lmao
i just like watching them waddle around and miss every shot </3 they're trying so hard :(
they do entirely softlock NCF though from my experience with EAE lol - they make exiting the elevator impossible

The issue with adding more modded origins is to see how to make it not dependant.
Some people don't want to add other origins.

I don't think Wingidon intends to ever add modded origins to the hirelings, just base game enemies/characters converted into hirelings

Actually though, on the thought of that one comment saying we should be able to change hireling origins, I think it'd be pretty neat if there was a small chance for hirelings to spawn with the origin skill of a different origin - like an agent spawning with the Corruption skill
not sure how possible it is, but i think it sounds neat

As for a small chance for other Origin skills on unique origins - could probably get it working, but it's unlikely to ever happen. Too much effort for too small a result, if you know what I'm saying.

In terms of other Hireling variants - if I ever do add them, they'll be basegame enemies converted into Hirelings. I'm talking Bloodsuckers, G03LMs, Half-Mags, and I might even convert some of the more "normal" enemies like Bandits as well - I can see some potential for an interesting dynamic regarding those.

yeah I didn't think it was too possible, but neat nonetheless
basegame enemy hirelings are mainly what im looking forward to anyways :]

Additional Hireling types, if/when I add them, will not be based on modded origins.
